Banned Sequence presents the Latin alphabet as a row of wooden letters from which B, D, and S have been removed. The familiar order remains readable, while three conspicuous gaps render the missing acronym present through its absence.
Referring to the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions movement, the work approaches censorship as an act of selective subtraction. Language continues to function, but only after particular signs have been made unavailable. Yet the attempt at erasure remains incomplete: the empty spaces preserve the position of what has been removed. What is prohibited returns as the structure of the sequence itself.
